- There is a difference between a Facebook Fan Page and a Facebook Personal Account. Personal Facebook accounts are not indexed in search engines. Furthermore, the amount of Fans and the sharing capabilities for a Personal Facebook account is limited.
- Facebook Group or Facebook Fan Page? The best is to open an account for both. A Facebook Group has privacy settings that do not allow people who are not Fans to see status updates, however it does have the capability to send email marketing campaigns to your Fans Facebook inboxes. A Facebook Group is a perfect place to interact with your closets Fans and offer them special deals that people on the the Fans page would not typically be offered. A Facebook Fan Page is indexed in search engines and can be optimized for SEO. There are different areas on a Facebook Fan page that you can optimize with SEO guidelines. Furthermore, a Facebook Fan page has no limit for Fans, whereas a Group page can only maintain a maximum of 4,000 Fans.
- Change the URL of your Facebook Page. You are defaulted with a long URL when opening a Facebook Fan Page. However, by simply going to http://www.facebook.com/username you can change the name to something easier to remember or even optimized for SEO.
